When we reviewed the footer changes with WCMC, we determined the footer should reflect the libraries and collections page, which currently displays collections, libraries, and physical buildings on the same level with all the content hidden within accordions. We bring the most sought after content to the top, a list of the five largest libraries and their hours today.

The goal was to make sense of it and find some organization we could present to users and pull together related content. With this proposed design, we pull together the hours and locations into one page and present physical locations with all the collections and libraries within that location so users understand that one location may have multiple collections in it. We could also make scanning the page for what locations are still open, so this concept has visuals to assist with that task. We have also replaced the "About" sidebar navigation with a list of all the physical locations in alphabetical order, since the listing on the page retains the "top 5" locations, followed by the alphabetical listing of the remaining locations (otherwise our biggest libraries would be at the end and require a lot of scrolling).
Each physical building includes the name, its subject areas, it's physical location and relative location (east/west bank, St. Paul, etc), an image, the list of libraries and collections within the building with links to those specific hours, a listing of the main location hours with toggling forward and backward one week at a time, highlighting of today's hours and textual representation of open status.

Contact Web Dev or WCMC with thoughts, questions, or concerns. Please keep in mind this is a truncated concept design; the full design would match the current website style and list all the physical library locations.
